Psalm 23

March 2, 2008

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not be in want. (Psalm 23:1)
LORD, thank you for providing for us all these years.

He makes me lie down in green pastures and leads me beside still waters. (Psalm 23:2)
Jesus, please help me come to those green pastures and still waters you have prepared for me.

He revives my soul and guides me along right pathways for his Name’s sake. (Psalm 23:3)
Jesus, your name is holy; guide me into those pathways where I will bless your name. Please revive my soul with your Holy Spirit.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)
Father, I know that my redeemer lives and he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth and I shall see him, and not as a stranger. Thank you.

You spread a table before me in the presence of those who trouble me; you have anointed my head with oil, and my cup is running over. (Psalm 23:5)
LORD, please help me sit down to the gospel feast you have prepared for me.

Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. (Psalm 23:6)
Holy Spirit, thank you for the hope you have planted in my heart.
Jesus, thank you for your goodness and mercy.
Father, I long for your dwelling place.

A word received: I hear your prayers.

Praying the Nicene Creed daily: And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
Father, guide us by your Holy Spirit so that every other “lord” in our lives is brought under the sovereign rule of Jesus and he becomes our one Lord. Thank you.

Dear friends,
Today I received a letter from Jane and Ted Leidenfrost. Ted and John Mckay have finished the Kpelle-English Dictionary and it is printed. That is very good news for which we are all very grateful. We also know how much work is involved. Thank you Ted.
We have an item for prayer also. Last March Ted developed a heavy cough. Diagnosis was multiple myeloma. Now after treatment he is regaining his strength and the tumor is in remission. So we should thank God for healing and pray that he will continue to be in remission. Also Jane fell and broke her leg which has healed well.
I will close with the last sentence of Jane’s letter, “May God’s indestructible Spirit and Love continue to be the true security of all God’s children.
Loving Jesus, Neil
