Mark 9:42-50

March 11, 2008

“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.” (Mark 9:42)
Jesus, please bring the leaders and teachers of the Episcopal Church to repentance, for they are causing many to stumble by the false gospel they are proclaiming.

“If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched–where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’” (Mark 9:43-44)
Holy Spirit, please bring the House of Bishops to repentance: they are casting out those who believe the gospel, help them be willing to cut off those members that are fully committed to sin.

“And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched–where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’” (Mark 9:45-46)
Father, please move the hearts of the House of Bishops to repentance.

“And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire–where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’” (Mark 9:47-48)
Jesus, once again I pray for your little ones who are being led astray by lies. Protect their hearts, don’t let them become chaff to be thrown into the fire when the day of your threshing comes.

“For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.” (Mark 9:49)
Lord Jesus, there is a fire that is coming to the Episcopal Church. Please let the fire of your Holy Spirit come first to rescue those who are headed toward the fire of Hell.

“Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.” (Mark 9:50)
LORD, I pray for all of us in the Episcopal Church, that we will be seasoned with the salt of the gospel so that we may have peace with one another. Thank you.

A word received: I AM calling my people, my faithful ones, to a new hope in me. Pray for a restoration of hope among my people.

      Notes from the Front Line

Pray for the House of Bishops meeting, March 7-12, Camp Allen, Texas:
“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith.” (1 Peter 5:5-9)
May the Holy Spirit manifest Himself in a mighty way during this gathering, touching and transforming the hearts, minds and souls of every bishop here, guiding and leading us in all that is said and done, that it will be in accordance with His will, and to His honor and glory and the benefit of His Church and people. Come Holy Spirit! Come now and come with power to cleanse and redeem your Church. We need you Lord Jesus. Amen.

I have sent this to many overseas friends… I know you cannot make it but please just pray for this retreat. Thanks.
I want to tell you of this miracle… I have said all along that I do not want to do this because of my own War experiences. The miracle is two fold: 1) I am now really excited about this and 2) I have not asked anyone for funding for this and yet the money has come in to put this healing retreat on. It has really been amazing. THANK YOU.
God bless you. Fr. Nigel+
