The Global Anglican Future Conference meets in mid-June and the Lambeth Conference in mid-July. This prayer is a variation of those posted earlier this week. Ideas for these prayers came from Arthur Burk’s redemptive gifts teaching.
Dear God,
We pray that these meetings will bring glory to Your name. In Your tender mercies, grant them:
–prophets who forgive.
–servants who proclaim Jesus as the Supreme Ruler of the Universe.
–teachers who assume responsibility for their church families.
–exhorters who lead us to embrace the way of the cross for God’s greater glory.
–givers who can admit when they are needy.
–leaders who are holy and obedient to their call.
–the merciful to release the presence of God into the Body of Christ. Amen.
Romans 12:4-8

Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” (1 Corinthians 15:33)
Holy Spirit, come and lift the veil of deception from the leaders and teachers of the Episcopal Church.
Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. (1 Corinthians 15:34)
Jesus, awaken the church to righteousness and the knowledge of God.
But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?” (1 Corinthians 15:35)
Father, thank you that I can leave all of these “hows” in your care. I know that my redeemer lives and that I shall see him at the last day, and not as a stranger. Thank you.
A word received: Listen to me, my people; listen to me. I AM speaking to you; who is listening?
Wednesday: 115: Exodus 12:40-51; 1 Corinthians 15:(29)30-41; Matthew 28:1-16
Thursday: 148, 149: Exodus 13:3-10; 1 Corinthians 15:41-50; Matthew 28:16-20
