Jesus, thank you for all those witnesses down through the centuries who have endured all so that we might hear and receive the gospel. Please help us to walk worthy of our calling and be faithful witnesses to the next generation.
with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:2-3)
Holy Spirit, please help us show forth your fruit in our common life in this diocese. Thank you.

Eternal Father, You that see our past and our future, and have come down to us in Your incarnate Word, that in His death and rising we may rise, and so return to You in His body, the Church: Come now and invade our unruly spirits with Your Spirit and bend our will to Your will, until with unusual wisdom we do discern and elect and set apart none but the one You call to be our bishop and shepherd and an icon of Your Son Jesus, who with You, in the unity of the same Holy Spirit oversees Your Church forever. AMEN

Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams will inaugurate a new director of the Anglican Center in Rome, Reverend David Richardson.
Dear Heavenly Father,
The first Archbishop of Canterbury, Augustine, arrived in Kent carrying a silver cross and an image of Jesus Christ painted on a board. May David, who serves Augustine’s descendant, learn from his good example and carry Jesus in his heart, his mind, and soul, as he ministers at the Anglican Center in Rome. Amen.
