This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; (Ephesians 4:17-18 )
A word received: Walk with me. Know that I AM walking beside you. Join your prayers with mine.
This is the message which we have heard from him and declare to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)
Jesus, please help us to be bearers of your light to those around us.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. (1 John 1:6)
Holy Spirit, please help us share the light of Christ with all those who walk in darkness.
But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)
Father, do a mighty work of cleansing by the blood of Jesus throughout this diocese.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8 )
Jesus, have mercy on all those in the Episcopal Church who walk in self-deception and sin.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Help all of us in this diocese make a good confession of our sins so that we may be forgiven and cleansed from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:10)
Jesus, please bring the light of the gospel to those who say that evil is good and good is evil.
A word received: You are in my care.
