“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.” (Matthew 10:24)
Help us to follow where you lead, Jesus.
“It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!” (Matthew 10:25)
Help us to be like you, Jesus, whatever the cost.
“Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.” (Matthew 10:26)
Jesus, set us and all our diocesan leaders free from fear. Reveal for all to see the intentions and motives of those who attack our diocesan leaders.
“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.” (Matthew 10:27)
Holy Spirit, put on all of us the shoes of the preparation to share the gospel of peace. Help us proclaim the gospel openly and fearlessly.
“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28 )
Father, help us all daily put on the shield of faith by which we may quench every fiery dart from the evil one.
“Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.” (Matthew 10:29)
Lord, you have borne us up on eagles’ wings and you have never dropped us. Thank you.
“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” (Matthew 10:30)
Jesus, you are the one who sets the rising and the setting of the sun. All our times are in your hands. Set us free from fear.
“Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:31)
Jesus, thank you for breaking into our lives and redeeming us at the cost of your precious blood.
“Therefore whoever confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32)
Help us to openly confess you, Jesus. Place in our hands the sword of your Spirit which is your word.
“But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:33)
Father, Just as you shut the mouths of the lions so that they could not devour Daniel, we ask you to shut the mouths of all those who would attack your faithful ones. Please do this mighty work at the Diocesan Convention. Thank you.
A word received: You are in my care. I AM with you. Pray for the restoration of true faith in the Episcopal Church.
