With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? (Micah 6:6)
LORD, you do not find delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices; you desire obedience which is better than sacrifice and that we should heed your word. (From 1 Samuel 15:22)
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? (Micah 6:7)
Father, the sacrifice you desire is a broken and contrite heart; you will not despise such an offering. (From Psalm 51:17)
He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8 )
Jesus, we cry out to you for the Episcopal Church and for its leaders and teachers: the righteous are being deposed and the apostate are being honored; have mercy on us — help us to love mercy and walk humbly before you.
The LORD’s voice cries to the city– Wisdom shall see your name: “Hear the rod! Who has appointed it? Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the short measure that is an abomination? Shall I count pure those with the wicked scales, and with the bag of deceitful weights? For her rich men are full of violence, her inhabitants have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.” (Micah 6:9-12)
Holy Spirit, please help us build up the old waste places, help us raise up the foundations of many generations built on the faith once for all delivered to the saints. We pray that we shall be a generation of whom it is said, “They were ‘Repairers of the Breach’ and the ‘Restorers of Streets to Dwell In.’” (From Isaiah 58:12 and Jude 3)
A word received: Pray for my will to be done.
