A great and true exhortation from Bishop NT Wright about the need for serious and sustained prayer for the Anglican Communion in the conclusion of his response to the Abp. of Canterbury’s post-GC09 reflection:
I have said many times that the main priority at the moment for all those involved in this whole messy situation is prayer. That remains my conviction and my plea. Prayer for the church; for Archbishop Rowan; for wisdom, courage, clarity and vision; for God’s glory, the extension of his kingdom, and the power of the gospel and the Spirit at work in hearts, lives, communities and throughout our world.
Amen. Let’s pray!!

I’ve growled about the Archbishop of Canterbury, but so have people on all sides of the Anglican mess.
I wonder if he isn’t closer to Christ than any of us will admit? If all the factions are angry with him, is there something for which he stands that is pointing us toward the Lord?
He needs our intercession. He and the whole Communion need our self-examination and repentence.
