Fr. Nigel- Update from Fr. Haskell
11:37 AM, Oct. 24, 2009
Nigel’s fever came up again some during this morning.
Still critical and fragile, KEEP PRAYING.
Lynn Mumford has asked prayer that the fever would go down and that Nigel’s lungs would clear.
Lynn also remember the passage where Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law and she was able to immediately serve them: “Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. So he touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them. When evening had come, they brought to him many who were demon-possessed. And he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: ‘He himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.’” (Matthew 8:14-17)
Jesus, we pray that you will touch Nigel and raise him to serve you once again.
Albany Intercessor
Yesterday I was thinking about the passage in Daniel where the angel, Michael, was delayed for three weeks because he was involved in another ferocious battle against the rulers of Persia (I think!).
So, I was wondering if in Nigel’s case, the angels are also delayed. I started to pray that if this is what is happening, then the Lord would give those warrior angels victory in the battles they are currently fighting so they can be released and come fight for Nigel.
I prayed from 11:39 to 12:09 last night. I felt tension, then peace. I got plenty of sleep, but today it is harder to pray and to concentrate. I wonder if anyone is experiencing anything similar.
It’s been a privilege to pray with you all.
Kelly, Thank you for mentioning this – I have also experienced feelings of opposition, distraction and sleepiness when I have prayed. It has been harder than other times of intercession.
