Intercessors for Nigel

November 1, 2009

Dear Lord,
All who live in the earth are Yours. All the intercessors are Yours. We thank You for the intercessors for Nigel. We thank You for their clean hands and their pure hearts. We thank You for their desire to seek You, to see Your face. We thank You for the blessings You have bestowed upon them.
Lord, if any of the intercessors for Nigel have sins of idolatry or false oaths that You wish them to confess, then stir their memories and bring these sins to the surface. Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
We lift up their prayers and the fasting. May they use Your Holy Scripture as a sharp sword to cut gates and ancient doors into the heavens over Nigel, portals for the King of glory to come in. O Lord Almighty, You are the King of glory. Amen.
Psalm 24

***************************
We and others are convinced that God is doing a larger work among us through the illness of Fr. Nigel Mumford. Therefore, I ask you to make Monday, November 2nd a day of prayer and fasting. Please fast from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow. Let us see what our God will do.
***************************

The earth is the LORD’S, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. (Psalm 24:1)
I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt; put me to doing, put me to suffering; let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee; let me be full, let me be empty; let me have all things, let me have nothing; I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen. (From the Watch Night Service by John Wesley.)

For he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters. (Psalm 24:2)
Lord Jesus, establish us. You are our rock to stand on, help us find a sure footing in you.

Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in his holy place? (Psalm 24:3)
Father, wash us and cleanse us with the blood of Jesus so that we may enter your holy place.

He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. (Psalm 24:4)
Holy Spirit, keep my lips from speaking deceitfully.

He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. (Psalm 24:5)
Father, you are the God of my salvation.

This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face. (Psalm 24:6)
Jesus, help us to be such a generation — a generation that seeks you and finds you.

Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. (Psalm 24:7)
Jesus, there are all those barriers in my life that keep you out; help me lift them up so that you can enter in.

Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. (Psalm 24:8 )
Holy Spirit, please help us see and receive into our hearts the glory and majesty of Jesus.

Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. (Psalm 24:9)
Jesus, you are the Christ, the son of the living God; lift up every gate and barrier in my life and come in with your glory. I invite you in.

Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. (Psalm 24:10)
      Jesus, you are my king.

A word received: I AM working out my purposes in you.

      Notes from the Front Line

Christ Church Schenectady Prayer Table Report October 31, 9:25-10:30 AM Torre Bissell and Don Foust
+–indicates received wooden cross made by Dennis Adams of North Carolina.

It was a very windy Fall day. Most of the people stopping by the Prayer Table were there for the first time. We saw examples of prostitution and drug abuse as we sat at the Prayer Table; however, we also had a number of people who are attempting to put this life-style behind them. Pray for a mighty change in this Neighborhood and a strengthening of those resisting temptation.

The Prayer Table has become a regular stop for a number of folks in the Neighborhood, and we have added their names to the bottom of the Prayer Table Report.

Man walking by (did not stop)–”No thanks”, he responded when asked if he would like prayer. “I just got off the phone with my father and he said a prayer for me”. We thank God for the faithfulness of families.

+William and +Mary–This couple has stopped at the Prayer Table before. We prayed that they would continue on the straight path and not turn back to their old lives of drugs, alcohol, and chemical-substance abuse. We prayed that for their health and for their families.

+Tony–Young man has just moved into an apartment on Albany Street. He moved out of his old apartment because people threatened him and tried to break into his home. He said these people harassed him because he was Puerto Rican. Tony is down to his last $10 and hopes he can keep fed till his Food Stamps arrive next week. We prayed for protection and provision.

+Deborah–This young woman was reluctant to come to the Prayer Table. We prayed for her peace of mind.

+Durea–Young man. We prayed for guidance and protection.

+John–John had stopped at the Prayer Table 2 weeks ago. We prayed for his mother Bessie Mae recently who passed away.

+David–on his way to the special service at the Macedonian Seventh Day Adventist Church. We prayed for a successful service and that God’s Word would touch the hearts of many new people.

+Amy and her children +Elaina and +Isaiah–We prayed for health and protection of this young family.

Connie and Paul–We prayed for an end to Connie’s recurring seizures and an end to the pain in Paul’s leg. We also prayed for Paul’s friend Keith who has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Connie had a PTL that a 14-year old girl had been removed by Social Services from a near-by hotel where the young girl was heading into a life of sex and drugs. Connie also had a PTL that Smitty who has moved to Florida has been clean for 5 months. Pray that this couple will continue to grow in their relationship with each other and toward God.

Pray for an unknown teen-age girl we observed on State Street, coming down off of crack cocaine and getting into a car with a man. Pray for her deliverance from a life of drugs and prostitution.

Daniel–Young man was high on drugs and did not stop. “Pray for me”.

+Raymond–Young man requested a prayer of healing for his mother Jemma who has breast cancer. We thank God for the support of family members.

+George–Older man. George is seeking God’s guidance if he should retire and move to Nebraska. We also prayed for his health; George has diabetes and arthritis.

Rachel–older woman–We prayed for blessings and protection.

Christ Church Schenectady Prayer Table Report October 31, 6:00 – 8:00 PM Torre Bissell and Deacon Larry Hubert [We set up our card table in front of the doors of the church (which were wide open). Inside a small group of musicians and people were praising and worshipping God. There was a snack table with hot cider and donuts and bags of chips for any Trick-or-Treaters.] Most of the first hour there were sheets of rain pouring down and few people came. During the second hour, the rain really lightened up and we had a number of adults with children come in for cider and donuts. We gave one person a Bible and gave out about 35-40 crosses made by Dennis Adams. We also had the opportunity to pray with for the people below.
