Fr. Nigel update 11:45 AM
Monday 11/2/09
Fr. Nigel Mumford had a good night. He is stable but continues in critical condition. The doctors are trying to reduce the oxygen pressure in the hope of removing the ventilator but that is a slow process. So please continue to pray for a healing of his lungs so that the ventilator can be removed. He continues to have a fever, so also please continue to pray for a reduction of his fever along with the elimination of whatever is causing the fever. Please also continue to pray for protection for all of his organs during this lengthy process, especially his kidneys which have to process all the medicine.
Lynn is very touched by all of the prayers that are being said for Fr. Nigel and for herself. She is encouraged by Fr. Nigel’s progress even though it is, as she puts it, “one mustard seed at a time”. He will be astonished by the enormity of the prayer circles which are crying out to our Lord for his recovery. Keep them coming!!
Today has been declared a day of fasting and prayer for Fr. Nigel. It is happening in England and Sweden as well. The fasting is from 8-5, if you are able.
Thank you and God bless.

Dear Beth,

A note to say its Monday morning and there are many here who are moved to join out American brothers and sisters in praying and fasting for dear Nigel. I’d love it if you could pass this on to Torre Bissell to encourage him and the intercessors. We even have people in Sweden joining in today as well. Nigel is MUCH LOVED.

We look forward to a real breakthrough today. Yesterday in church we were looking at Ephesians 6 and in particular, having put on the whole armour of God, to STAND FIRM. We all felt this was particularly apt as we pray for Nigel…not to get sidetracked or wobbly, but to Stand Firm!

So we will be doing just that today with you all.

Bless you for your perseverance. A huge hug to dearest Lynnie – there isn’t a moment that we don’t think about her too.

With love
Julie x (Nigel’s sister)

Psalm 56:1-7

November 2, 2009

***************************
We and others are convinced that God is doing a larger work among us through the illness of Fr. Nigel Mumford. Therefore, I ask you to make Monday, November 2nd a day of prayer and fasting. Please fast from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. Let us see what our God will do.
***************************

Be merciful to me, O God, for man would swallow me up; fighting all day he oppresses me. (Psalm 56:1)
Lord Jesus, we come in the power of your name against every evil influence that would harm Fr. Nigel, Lynn or this diocese.

My enemies would hound me all day, for there are many who fight against me, O Most High. (Psalm 56:2)
Jesus, you are our strong, high tower and we flee into you. Protect Fr. Nigel, his family, and this diocese from every attack and every evil influence, from within and from without.

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in you. (Psalm 56:3)
Jesus, you are our refuge in the storm.

In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? (Psalm 56:4)
Father, we turn to you with thanksgiving in our hearts for what you are doing among us. We bless your ministry to this diocese; we ask you to write your word on our hearts.

All day they twist my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil. (Psalm 56:5)
A word received: You can pray for protection.
Father, we ask you to protect this diocese and all your faithful servants; protect Fr. Nigel and all the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who minister to him and his family.

They gather together, they hide, they mark my steps, when they lie in wait for my life. (Psalm 56:6)
Holy Spirit, guide Bishop Bill and this diocese through every trap and deceit of the evil one.

Shall they escape by iniquity? in anger cast down the peoples, O God! (Psalm 56:7)
Holy Spirit, stop up the mouths of those who twist the plain words of Scripture. Bring confusion to the counsel of those who espouse sexual immorality. Keep this diocese from all false teaching and shut the mouths of all false teachers. Thank you.

May the Name of Jesus, the Son of God, who is mightier than all the hosts of Satan, and more glorious than all the angels of heaven, abide with Nigel in his going out and his coming in; by day and by night; at morning and at evening; at all times and in all places.
May the Name of Jesus, the Son of God, protect and deliver Nigel from the wrath of evil persons; from the assaults of evil spirits; from foes invisible; from the snares of the Evil One; and from all low passions that beguile the soul and body.
May the Name of Jesus protect and deliver Nigel.
And the blessing of God Almighty, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit be with Nigel this day and always. Amen.

Mohawk Valley

November 2, 2009

God’s purpose in separating light from dark, establishing water and earth, and bringing forth plants and animals was to create the perfect environment for Life to abound through man and woman. Each creative act received a blessing from God. BLESSING and LIFE belong together.
When death comes upon the land through sin, a curse falls upon the earth and greatly affects the well-being of mankind. The only thing that can overcome a curse is BLESSING. God’s LIFE always overpowers death. His BLESSING always overpowers curses.
Father Nigel is in the Saratoga Hospital in the Mohawk Valley. On this day of prayer and fasting for Nigel, let us bless the land as well.
