Subject: Update on Fr. Nigel

Fr. Nigel Mumford continues in ICU. He is completely off the ventilator, even at nighttime! Thank you, Lord Jesus.

In the determined manner of a Royal Marine, he is building his strength and has used a walker to get from his bed to his chair – a short distance but a huge accomplishment. He is very dizzy when he stands up.

As a result of letting you know about the E-cards at Saratoga Hospital, Fr. Nigel received over 300 e-cards the first day. Needless to say, it caused a bit of disruption to their system. On the bright side of that, Fr. Nigel was very touched. Perhaps it would be wise to hold off on sending any more cards until the hospital can recover from the massive response.

Please pray for:

*      Complete and immediate healing of Fr. Nigel’s bedsores

*      Complete healing and strengthening of Fr. Nigel’s lungs

*      Building up of Fr. Nigel’s muscles – all of his muscles – so that he can regain his strength

*      Elimination of the dizziness Fr. Nigel feels when he stands

*      Peace and endurance for Lynn

Please give Praise and Thanksgiving to our Lord for the continued healing of Fr. Nigel. Our God is so awesome. He cares so much for each one of us — He listens to our prayers. Bless you all for your continued and dedicated prayers.

Luke 21:10-19

November 29, 2009

Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.” (Luke 21:10-13)
Holy Spirit, please help us see in these hard times an opportunity to testify to Jesus’ faithfulness.

“Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.” (Luke 21:14-15)
Jesus, we trust you faithfulness: we trust you will give us the words to speak.

“You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost. By your patience possess your souls.” (Luke 21:16-19)
Father, thank you for caring for us and for receiving us into your kingdom. Thank you for letting us know that our redeemer lives.

A word received: I AM with you. Look to me day by day.
