“Hope is the ability to hear the music of God’s future. Faith (trust) is the courage to dance to it today.” Bishop William Frey
2 Samuel 6:13-15 (King James Version)
And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.
Dear Heavenly Father,
King David was wearing a garment of righteousness and engaging in extravagant sacrifice when He brought the ark of the covenant, the seat of mercy, into Jerusalem. When Jesus, Who was in the form of God and took upon Himself the likeness of man, was born in Bethlehem, the angel choirs sang.
You are drawn to sacrifice.
Oh, to hear the music of angel choirs, to dance with all our might in Your presence! Help us to die to self and put on the vestments of righteousness–the love, the humility, and the obedience of Christ Jesus. We put our trust in You.
We proclaim the birth of Your Son with shouts and trumpet sound. Jesus was born in Bethlehem. He died and arose in Jerusalem. He ascended into heaven and is seated at Your right hand. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. Halleluia! Halleluia! Halleluia!
