Genetic healing, part 2

January 28, 2010

Written while on retreat. Some of the ideas for this prayer came from “Thy Kingdom Come Thy Will Be Done in Earth” by Jim and Faith Chosa. .

Jesus,
You are the root and offspring of David, the author and finisher of our faith. You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Your death swallows up our death. Your death swallows up deadly diseases.
You are the Alpha and the Omega of our chromosomes. You created them, and You redeemed them.
I rest my chromosomes on You: Your strength, Your righteousness, Your divine abilities. Through the mystery and power of Your Life-Blood, realign each chromosome in Your image, from beginning to end, first to last. Deliver me from genetic flaws, I pray. Amen.

Psalm 60:1-4

January 28, 2010

O God, you have cast us off; you have broken us down; you have been displeased; oh, restore us again! (Psalm 60:1)
Restore us, O LORD; help us return to you and your ways.

You have made the earth tremble; you have broken it; heal its breaches, for it is shaking. (Psalm 60:2)
Holy Spirit, teach us to number our days and know how fragile life is, and return to you.

You have shown your people hard things; you have made us drink the wine of confusion. (Psalm 60:3)
Father, bring us to sobriety of spirit and humility before you.

You have given a banner to those who fear you, that it may be displayed because of the truth. (Psalm 60:4)
Jesus, you are the banner that we hold aloft; help us proclaim your mighty deeds and the salvation you offer. Deliver us from fear of openly proclaiming the gospel. Thank you.

A word received: You are in my care.
I AM with you; look to me for help that does not disappoint.

Freedom of Religion
In 1682, the first Assembly adopted the Great Law, a humanitarian code that became the fundamental basis of Pennsylvania law and which guaranteed liberty of conscience.
Native Americans
Although William Penn was granted all the land in Pennsylvania by the King, he and his heirs chose not to grant or settle any part of it without first buying the claims of Indians who lived there.
African Americans
The Pennsylvania Gradual Abolition Act of 1780 was the first emancipation statute in the United States.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the godly witness of the early leaders of Pennsylvania. What abundant showers of righteousness! We rejoice in You, O Lord our God.
Do not forget this state now. We cry out for the autumn rains of righteousness, as well as the spring rains.
Bring in a harvest of spiritual fruitfulness. Multiply it to overflowing, we pray. Amen.
Joel 2:23-24
