Written while on retreat. Some of the ideas for this prayer came from “Thy Kingdom Come Thy Will Be Done in Earth” by Jim and Faith Chosa. .
O Holy Spirit, come. Come now. Come with more power.
Show me my forgotten sins and convict me. I confess ______. I confess the sins of my ancestors, _________. Remove from me all of my sins and all historical and generational issues of iniquity. With Your living water, wash away the accumulated defilements of my body, soul, and spirit.
Anoint me, body, mind, and spirit with Your love. Lift the burdens off my shoulders. Penetrate and break the yoke off my neck. Penetrate and realign all abnormal chromosomal linkages.
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. I bless You Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things, and I bless Your glorious name forever. The whole earth is full of Your glory.
Christ be in my heart.
Christ be in my identity.
Christ be in my genome.
Christ! Christ! Christ!
Fill me with all the fullness of Your love. Amen.
Psalm 72:18-9, Isaiah 6:3, 10:27, Ephesians 3:14-19
I would reword “abnormal chromosomal linkages” – “abnormal” sort of sounds like it would rest on the “norms of science” from context (since it’s describing chromosomal linkages). Perhaps a word more along the lines of restoration, something reflecting God’s will …
By the way, thank you for posting these prayers. I have prayed them and they have prayerfully inspired thought.
As I prayed for you and with you about Genetic healing, I began with the word you mentioned, ‘wash.’
The path of praying the Scriptures led to God’s continual work of washing, redeeming, delivering, renewing, healing, edifying, building, rebuilding His people, individualy and collectively, internally and externally, physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually through all time and generations.
Wash
Scripture says to wash feet, hands, legs…
We are washed with word, living water, blood of Jesus
We wash to remove soil and sin…
God’s word births (James 1:18) imparts faith (Romans 10:17) builds, edifies (Acts 20:32, Ephesians 5) washes, sanctifies, purifies, restores (Psalm 19:7-14, Ephesians 5:26, I Timothy 4:5), works in us, discerns our needs (Hebrews 4:12) feeds us, sustains us (Hebrews 1:3, 6:5, Mt 4:4, Luke 4:4, I Peter 2:2)…His words are spirit and life. (John 6:63)
Renew, make new
Revelation – ‘Behold I make all things new’
Heal, health
Revelation 22:2 – ‘the leaves of the tree (of Life) are for the healing (G2322) of the nations’ [G2322 - means both household and healing]
The same word, H3444 ‘jeshuah’ means salvation, health, deliverance, victory, help, prosperity, welfare, well-being. It is also the Name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. (Health: Ps 42:11, Ps 43:5, Ps 67:2)
Build/Rebuild
Jeremiah 31:4 – “I will build you up again (Hebrew banah -1129) and you will be rebuilt, O Virgin Israel. Again you will take up your tambourines and go out to dance with the joyful.”
The first mention of banah is the building/creation of woman, icon of the Church in Genesis 2:22 – And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made (H1129) he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Here is the definition of banah:
1) to build, rebuild, establish, cause to continue
a) (Qal)
1) to build, rebuild
2) to build a house (ie, establish a family)
b) (Niphal)
1) to be built
2) to be rebuilt
3) established (of restored exiles) (fig.)
4) established (made permanent)
5) to be built up (of childless wife becoming the mother of a family through the children of a concubine)
Isaiah 61:4 – They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations;they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.
Acts 15:16 – After this I will return, and will build again (G456) the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again (G456) the ruins thereof, and I will set it up (G461): (G456 – anoikodomeō the only place in Scripture this word is used)
Ephesians 2:21 – In whom all the building *fitly framed together* groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
John 2:19 – Jesus replied, “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up again.”
II Corinthians 5:1 – we are built by Him, fashioned in the womb, ‘a house not made with hands’
Sent
Nehemiah 3:15 – The pool of Shiloah (Siloam) is rebuilt Siloam – means sent, it is a fountain of water in Jerusalem by the King’s garden, a blind man washed in it to be healed (John 9)
Psalm 107:20 – God sends forth His word to heal and deliver from destructions…
Family
Ephesians 3:15-21 In Christ all the families are named, blessed and as we worship (v 14) and are indwelt by Him (v 17), we are put in order ( vvs 17-20) and built into the Church.
Generations
Philippians 2:15 – that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
Luke 1:50 – His mercy is on all that fear Him from generation to generation (a genetic inheritance)
Daniel 4:2-4 – It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has done for me. How great are his signs, how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion endures from generation to generation.
Lamentations 5:19 But you, O LORD, reign forever; your (God’s) throne endures to all generations.
Isaiah 51:8 – my righteousness will be forever, and my salvation to all generations
Psalm 145:13; – Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.
The Scripture that most resonated to pray was Jeremiah 31:4: I will build you up again and you will be rebuilt, O Virgin Israel. Again you will take up your tambourines and go out to dance with the joyful.
This form of joy (sashaq – H7832) is a rather triumphalistic mocking victoriousness over evil and all that assaults us and opposes God. (see Psalm 2 and 37:13, when God laughs at evil that rises up against Him Habakkuk 1:10 when the people of God deride every strongholdand Zech 8:5 – children playing freely).
Dear Holy Father,
Please bring the prayers and blessings of all the saints on earth and through the ages to bear for Your daughter.
Please build and rebuild Your daughter, as you reorder, internally and externally redeem and restore your children and your church.
Please do this at every level in Your daughter’s body, soul and spirit.
Please wash, deliver, heal, save, renew and rebuild Your daughter and restore Your order and balance to every microparticle, atom, element, valence, the sequences of guanine, adenine, thymine, cystosine, mitochondria, nucleus, every cell, membrane, protein, enzyme, every tissue, circulation, system, intercommunication, function, structure and organ.
Please loose her from and drive out all Your enemies, defeat and laugh to scorn every stronghold and assault upon and within Your beloved daughter for Your glory.
Then, fill her with praise and thanksgiving to You that Your enemies cannot bear, that drives them completely away.
Fill her with love, truth and life…the power of Your very presence and being.
Fill her with all joy in believing, the joy that is her strength.
May Your joy and union with her be complete and her soul find its joy, rest, peace full and complete in You.
In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
