The Anglican Communion Institute

February 1, 2010

The Anglican Communion Institute has responded to the current state of affairs regarding the covenant and the governance of the Anglican Communion.

Judah deprived the widow Tamar of her legal right to marriage, and she masqueraded as a prostitute to conceive the twin sons of Judah. While she was in labor, one twin put out his hand. The midwife tied a scarlet thread around his wrist, thinking he would be the firstborn. He drew back his hand, and and out came his brother! “What!” the midwife exclaimed. “How did you break out first?” So he was named Perez, which means breaking forth. Perez is an ancestor of Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Perez was conceived in deceit, but You redeemed his birth. The spirit of deceit has wrapped the Anglican Communion in its tentacles, and spawned contradictory and mutually exclusive theologies and various ACC constitutions and legal obligations. The confusion is like ink from a squid.
Truth has broken forth! Jesus is the Truth, and Jesus is the Word. The Living Word shines amidst the words of obfuscation.
We thank You for the work of the godly scholars of the Anglican Communion Institute in exposing truths and lies. We claim the sword of the Spirit, the word of God, living and active, and sharper than any double-edged sword to penetrate the confusion and rightly divide the word of truth. Continue to break through, Holy Spirit, and bring us Christ.
Stay with the Anglican Communion Institute, Lord Jesus. Guard their hearts and minds. May they lean on You in all that they do. Amen.

Bishop Mouneer Anis

February 1, 2010

Bishop Mouneer Anis is the president bishop of the province of Jerusalem and the Middle East. He has just resigned from the “Standing Committee of the Anglican Communion.” He is a physician.

Our Father in heaven,
We thank You for the witness of Bishop Anis, a God-given physician for our wounds. May his actions be the lance that drains the spiritual defilement from the Anglican Communion, the body of Christ.
Uphold your Church, O God of truth, to maintain and proclaim boldly the catholic faith against all opposition, trusting solely in the grace of Your written word, Holy Scripture, and Your Word-made-flesh, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Psalm 64

February 1, 2010

Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation; preserve my life from fear of the enemy. (Psalm 64:1)
LORD, you have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind. Thank you.

Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the rebellion of the workers of iniquity, (Psalm 64:2)
Father, protect us from the wrath of evil people.

Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows–bitter words, (Psalm 64:3)
Jesus, protect us and Bishop Bill from the strife of tongues.

That they may shoot in secret at the blameless; suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear. (Psalm 64:4)
Holy Father, protect you little ones — the lost and the least.

They encourage themselves in an evil matter; they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, “Who will see them?” (Psalm 64:5)
Holy Spirit, confuse the words of those who plot evil.

They devise iniquities: “We have perfected a shrewd scheme.” Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep. (Psalm 64:6)
Lord, you know our thoughts even before we speak: guard our hearts and our tongues.

But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly they shall be wounded. (Psalm 64:7)
Jesus, deal with those who plot evil and those who misuse their power.

So he will make them stumble over their own tongue; all who see them shall flee away. (Psalm 64:8 )
Holy Spirit, cause those who plot against your people to stumble over their own words.

All men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider his doing. (Psalm 64:9)
Holy Spirit, please give us wisdom and understanding as we consider your works.

The righteous shall be glad in the lord, and trust in him. And all the upright in heart shall glory. (Psalm 64:10)
Jesus, we place our trust and our hope in you; help us glory in your mighty deeds. Thank you.

A word received: When you have come to me, I have heard you.

A word received: I want my people to know me.
