Genesis 12:8-9 NLT
After that, Abram traveled south and set up camp in the hill country, with Bethel to the west and Ai to the east. There he built another altar and dedicated it to the Lord, and he worshiped the Lord. Then Abram continued traveling south by stages toward the Negev.
Abram goes to Egypt where he fails to build an altar, lies, and gives his wife to Pharoah in order to save his skin. On leaving Egypt, he makes his way back to the last place he had directly encountered God.
Genesis 13:3-4 NLT
From the Negev, they continued traveling by stages toward Bethel, and they pitched their tents between Bethel and Ai, where they had camped before. This was the same place where Abram had built the altar, and there he worshiped the Lord again.
O Lord,
By stages, we in the Anglican Communion have strayed away from You. We have failed to honor You. We have forgotten Your promises to us. We have lied. We have broken covenants with one another. Take pity and, by stages, lead us back, we pray. Amen.
Dear Holy Father,
We ask, beg, beseech You for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit of Truth, Who spreads Your Holy Love in our hearts, who gives and sustains all Life, Who enables us to Love You, Love Your Word and Truth, to Love, respect and cherish Life and ourselves and each other rightly.
Send forth Thy Holy Word to restore Anglicanism and Anglicans to Truth, Love and Life by Thy Holy Spirit.
Please expose the works of the evil one who would substitute lies, lust, bondage, disease and death.
Help Your people to discern the difference and to be repulsed by and to renounce all the works of evil.
In the Name of Jesus, Christ, Lord, the Only Name under Heaven by which we may be saved, Amen
