“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,” Let Israel now say– “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, When men rose up against us, Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their wrath was kindled against us;” (Psalm 124:1-3)
LORD, we are in your hand and you have carried us this far — thank you.
“Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul;” (Psalm 124:4)
Father, we trust in you and know that there is no height nor depth nor any kind of trouble that can separate us from your love and that you cannot handle. (See Romans 8:39)
“Then the swollen waters Would have gone over our soul.” (Psalm 124:5)
Jesus, we know that when we pass through the waters, you will be with us, and through the torrents of the river, they shall not overwhelm us. Thank you. (See Isaiah 43:2)
Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth. (Psalm 124:6)
Holy Trinity, one God, thank you.
Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. (Psalm 124:7)
Jesus, you have guided us by your Holy Spirit and we have escaped so many traps — thank you.
Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 124:8 )
Truly, LORD, you are our help and our salvation. We thank you and praise you for all that you have done, are doing right now, and will do in the future to set us free in your kingdom.
A word received: Pray for that: “Lord, please feed your people.”
