Hebrews 13:1-8

Let brotherly love continue. (Hebrews 13:1)
Thank you, Jesus, for the brothers and sisters you have given us in the church.

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. (Hebrews 13:2)
Thank you, Father, for all those you have sent to us.

Remember the prisoners as if chained with them–those who are mistreated–since you yourselves are in the body also. (Hebrews 13:3)
O GOD, who spares when we deserve punishment, and in your wrath remembers mercy; we humbly beseech you, of your goodness, to comfort and succour all prisoners [especially those who are condemned to die]. Give them a right understanding of themselves, and of your promises; that, trusting wholly in your mercy, they may not place their confidence anywhere but in you. Relieve the distressed, protect the innocent, awaken the guilty; and forasmuch as you alone bring light out of darkness, and good out of evil, grant to these your servants, that by the power of your Holy Spirit they may be set free from the chains of sin and death, and may be brought to newness of life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (From 1928 BCP)

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (Hebrews 13:4)
Holy Spirit, move in the marriages among us and heal and restore.

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For he himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
Lord Jesus, you are my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (From Hebrews 13:6)

Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. (Hebrews 13:7)
Jesus, anoint Bishop Bill with your word and Spirit each day.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 )
Jesus, thank you for being our steady rock. Help us to stand on you daily. Thank you.

Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. (Hebrews 13:9a)
Lord Jesus, we cry out to you for those among us who have been carried away by strange doctrines: bring them back to you — carry them back into the flock. Raise up shepherds to speak your word of truth to them. Thank you.

One Response to Hebrews 13:1-8

  1. Real Questions says:

OK, you say “Jesus help me love my wife as you loved the church”. OK, thats cool
But if Jesus wants me to love women or my hypothetical “wife” as he loved the Church, then why do women tempt men into sin?
Why do women seduce and distract men all the time?
Why are women vain and mean to good men aka “Nice guys”?
    Why are women so superficial?
What would you say to a man who has never ever met a good woman in his life maybe except his mother e.t.c?
Would you blame Samson for being angry or distrustful of women? I mean they betrayed him soooo many times.
What do you think GOD will have to say to questions like this?
Why does God sometimes ignore sincere prayers for help knowing that if he doesn’t help, that person will go further into sin?
WHat would God have to say to men who have been treated badly and rejected by women all their life?

Please answer if you guys can?
