Father, thank you for your good pleasure. Thank you for the kingdom you have prepared for us. Thank you for setting us free from fear. Please fold us daily into your arms and into your flock.
“Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.” (Luke 12:33)
Jesus, you are the Pearl of Great Price. You are the treasure that does not fail. You are the treasure our hearts long for. Set our hearts free to give all and follow you.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Luke 12:34)
Holy Spirit, come and refine our hearts.
Gold is tested in fire and chosen men in the furnace of humiliation. (Ecclesiasticus 2:5)
LORD, thank you for your refining fire and the fire of your love. Burn away the dross in our lives so that we may be pure gold for you. Thank you for every humiliation we have to endure for the sake of your kingdom.
