But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, (2 Timothy 3:14)
Father, thank you for the teachers you have given me. Please help me by your Holy Spirit to apply what they have taught me.
and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:15)
Jesus, I grew up without any knowledge of you. Thank you for helping me find you as a young man. Thank you for baptizing me with your Holy Spirit so that I could learn from your Holy Scriptures.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, (2 Timothy 3:16)
Holy Spirit, please continue daily to teach me sound doctrine, reprove me, correct me, and instruct me in righteousness by your Holy Scriptures.
that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:17)
Holy Spirit, continue to equip me with your word day by day. Thank you.

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. (2 Timothy 4:1-2)
Holy Father, please help every priest, deacon, missionary, and evangelist in this diocese take this charge to heart. Write it on their hearts.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
Lord Jesus Christ, the time has come and your church has become a haven for those who pursue false teaching. Come and cleanse your church! Lord, you called St. Francis to rebuild your church; call many such men and women in our day to rebuild your church. Renew in our day the wonders of your Pentecost. Thank you for the ministry of those in the Franciscans of the Holy Cross, the Sisters of St. Mary, the Daughters of the King, and the Brotherhood of St. Andrew. Raise up many vocations to these orders.
But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. (2 Timothy 4:5)
Holy Spirit, please help each of us in this diocese fulfill the ministry you have given us. You have called us; help each of us discern and respond to your call. Thank you.
Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate. (Psalm 127)

Thank you, Lord, for filling up our quiver.
