But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, (2 Thessalonians 2:13)
Father, thank you for choosing us.
Thank you for loving us, Jesus.
Holy Spirit, thank you for your cleansing fire and for planting belief in the truth in our hearts.
to which he called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 2:14)
Father, thank you for calling us. Please help us daily respond to your call and obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)
Holy Spirit, please help us stand fast on the gospel; help us stand on Jesus — he is the rock which does not move or shake.
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
Jesus, thank you for being a living hope in our hearts. Thank you for the love and consolation of your Holy Spirit. Thank you for showing us your father’s love. Thank you.
