Now as soon as they had come out of the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and they told him about her at once. So he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them. (Mark 1:29-31)
Lord Jesus Christ, please come into every home in this diocese and lift up the sick and heal them. Help all of us to serve you and one another.
Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, he went out and departed to a solitary place; and there he prayed. (Mark 1:35)
Holy Spirit, move the hearts of the men and women and youth of this diocese to join you in that life of early morning prayer. Give us steadiness in coming to the Father as Jesus did.
And Simon and those who were with him searched for him. (Mark 1:36)
Father, please give all those you have called to ministry a heart to daily search out Jesus and join him in interceding for your people.
When they found him, they said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.” But he said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.” (Mark 1:37-38 )
Jesus, please come into every city, town and village in this diocese and cause your word to be preached. Guide all those who minister your word and sacraments so that you are manifested to all the people. Thank you.
A word received: Look to me for defense and provision. Your savings will not save you. I AM mighty to save. Look to me for help in your hour of need.
