Father in heaven,
We carry this nation to You in prayer and join our voices to Jesus’ as He sits at Your right hand. Have mercy, Lord. Have mercy.
Your Son taught us to bless our enemies. We speak blessings over Ghaddafi and all of his security forces. Amen.

I’m so thankful that my colleague Jill has been posting all these prayers for N. Africa and the Middle East.
As one who has lived and worked in N. Africa (including a year in Cairo, Egypt) for about 20 years, I have very personal ties to what’s happening in many of the countries where protests are happening.
I don’t actually have a lot of personal ties to Libya, but have been very burdened to pray for that country now for some days. I encourage as many of our readers as possible to be praying and fasting for Libya. It is one of the countries that has been most closed to the gospel and the work of missionaries. I am praying that the country will open up in a dramatic way and we will be astounded to see the church grow in that land.
I am always deeply challenged by Jill’s consistent spiritual discipline of praying blessings on our “enemies” or those who would oppose us. It’s hard to pray for God’s blessings upon Ghaddafi, for instance! But I believe it very sound. And wouldn’t it be something if Ghaddafi were to repent and declare faith in Christ! We serve a God who loves to do the “impossible” – may we see it in Libya!!
