Earthquake, time, and evangelism

The earthquake in Japan shortened the day by 1.8 millionths of a second.

Matthew 9:37-38 (New Living Translation) He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

Father,
The days are shorter. We ask You to send more workers into Your fields. Amen.

One Response to Earthquake, time, and evangelism

  1. Karen B. says:

Just a few days before the earthquake, I was reading in Isaiah 13:

    Isa 13:13
13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger.

I was thinking about how the Indonesia earthquake had disrupted the earth’s axis, and the Japan earthquake did too. It is astonishing to read Isaiah’s prophecy of this very occurrence centuries before such disruption of earth’s rotation could be measured! So, I was greatly encouraged to be reminded of the truth of Scripture, and the prophets faithfulness in recording words from the Lord that were far beyond what they could understand, but that the future would reveal to be true.

May the Lord continue to bring many into His Kingdom before the final judgment!

    – Karen
