We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. (Romans 15:1)
Holy Spirit, give us a heart to bear with one another — to seek to please others and not ourselves.
Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. (Romans 15:2)
Father, help each of us seek the welfare of our neighbors so that the light of the gospel will shine forth in our hearts and minds.
For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.” (Romans 15:3)
Jesus, thank you for receiving the reproaches that should have fallen on us.
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. (Romans 15:4)
Thank you, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for the hope you give us which does not disappoint.
Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, (Romans 15:5)
Dear God, let your patience and comfort grant us to be like-minded toward one another as it is with Christ Jesus.
that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:6)
Help us to have one mind in our love for you. Jesus, do a mighty work of unity in this diocese and at the Diocesan Convention. Thank you.
Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. (Romans 15:7)
Holy Spirit, please help us receive one another as Jesus has received us. Thank you.
