Luke 9:18-20

And it happened, as he was alone praying, that his disciples joined him, and he asked them, saying, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” (Luke 9:18 )
Lord, I love the way things just “happen” when you are involved.

Jesus, you ever live to make intercession for us; help us to join you as you pray.

Holy Spirit, please show how to make Jesus known to the crowds.

So they answered and said, “John the Baptist, but some say Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again.” (Luke 9:19)
Jesus, help us make you know for who you are.

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.” (Luke 9:20)
Father, reveal Jesus’ identity and character to all of us in this diocese. Help all of us know your son as your anointed one — the Christ of God.

Father, help us, with Timothy and Peter and all your saints, fight the good fight of faith, lay hold of eternal life, to which we have been called and confess the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. Thank you. (See 1 Timothy 6:11)
