Psalm 38:15-22

August 31, 2011

For in you, O LORD, I hope; (Psalm 38:15a)
LORD, you are my hope and my strength.

You will hear, O Lord my God. (Psalm 38:15b)
Jesus, I depend on you, I wait on you. Thank you for hearing me.

For I said, “Hear me, lest they rejoice over me, lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me.” (Psalm 38:16)
Jesus, you are my rock. Please keep my feet steady on you.

For I am ready to fall, and my sorrow is continually before me. (Psalm 38:17)
Father, you know my sins — none can be hidden from you — cover me and wash me in the blood of Jesus. Thank you.

For I will declare my iniquity; I will be in anguish over my sin. (Psalm 38:18 )
Holy Spirit, please help me make a good confession of my sins and be set free of them.

But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong; and those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied. (Psalm 38:19)
Do not forsake me, O Lord; O my God, be not far from me! Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation! (Psalm 38:21-22)

A word received: Pray for the children that they will hear my word.

Subject: Pray for St. James Church, AuSable Forks and Parish Family
Dear Family and Friends,
We are also called to pray for St. James Church, AuSable Forks and Rev’d. Patti Johnson. As many are recovering from Hurricane Irene, and we see so much focus on the south or on the cities, let us not forget those who are in small communities or in out of the way places that are so easily forgotten about or looked over. St. James Church, and it Parish Families and the community of AuSable has also suffered at the hand of this storm. Please join me in prayer for them and for all those who may not have made the National News but are still in need of our prayers and support. May we simply give Thanks to God that the suffering and damage felt was not worse than what we can bear. Amen.

Prayer warriors

August 31, 2011

Today is the first day of the sixth month, Elul, in the Hebrew calendar. The first reference to the sixth month in scripture describes the regiment for the month in King David’s standing army.

1 Chronicles 27:9 (AMP)
The sixth, for the sixth month, Ira son of Ikkesh the Tekoite. In his division were 24,000.

Meanings:
Ira–watchful
Ikkesh–forward/wicked
Tekoa–trumpet, that which is confirmed

Father in heaven,
We confirm that Your Son Christ Jesus, of the house of David, will come again in glory. He will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God.
Stir the hearts of Your prayer warriors to press forward and be watchful in this season. Help them to strip off and throw aside every encumbrance and sin which so cleverly entangles and stay Your appointed course, looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith. Amen.
