Subject: Pray for St. James Church, AuSable Forks and Parish Family
Dear Family and Friends,
We are also called to pray for St. James Church, AuSable Forks and Rev’d. Patti Johnson. As many are recovering from Hurricane Irene, and we see so much focus on the south or on the cities, let us not forget those who are in small communities or in out of the way places that are so easily forgotten about or looked over. St. James Church, and it Parish Families and the community of AuSable has also suffered at the hand of this storm. Please join me in prayer for them and for all those who may not have made the National News but are still in need of our prayers and support. May we simply give Thanks to God that the suffering and damage felt was not worse than what we can bear. Amen.
***** Labor Day Weekend Retreat “To Be a Pilgrim Today”
September 2-5 2011 (Beginning on Friday at Vespers and ending after dinner on Monday)
The Rev’d Dr. Arnold Klukas, Professor of Liturgics and Ascetical Theology at Nashotah House Seminary, will lead a three-day, traditional silent retreat entitled “To Be Pilgrim Today” over Labor Day Weekend, September 2-5, 2011, at the convent.
As a teacher of classic Christian spiritual direction and formation, Dr. Klukas will offer meditations on the disciplines of prayeras the foundation of spiritual development, using pilgrimage as the theme for the Christian’s progress in spiritual growth.
