Today is the first day of the sixth month, Elul, in the Hebrew calendar. The first reference to the sixth month in scripture describes the regiment for the month in King David’s standing army.
1 Chronicles 27:9 (AMP)
The sixth, for the sixth month, Ira son of Ikkesh the Tekoite. In his division were 24,000.
Meanings:
Ira–watchful
Ikkesh–forward/wicked
Tekoa–trumpet, that which is confirmed
Father in heaven,
We confirm that Your Son Christ Jesus, of the house of David, will come again in glory. He will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God.
Stir the hearts of Your prayer warriors to press forward and be watchful in this season. Help them to strip off and throw aside every encumbrance and sin which so cleverly entangles and stay Your appointed course, looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith. Amen.
