Psalm 95

      Venite, exultemus Domino.
            Psalm 95.

O COME, let us sing unto the Lord * let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation.
Jesus, it is your strength and the power of your Holy Spirit that brings us to salvation. Thank you.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving * and show ourselves glad in him with Psalms.
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.” (Psalm 122:1)
For the Lord is a great God * and a great King above all gods.
Father, thank you for your greatness; help us daily come into your presence with praise and thanksgiving.
In his hand are all the corners of the earth * and the strength of the hills is his also.
Even more, Father, I am in your hands and you are my enduring strength.
The sea is his, and he made it * and his hands prepared the dry land.
Lord, we have polluted and abused the land and the sea which you have made; have mercy on us and help us repent of this.
O come, let us worship and fall down * and kneel before the Lord our Maker.
Holy Spirit, help us daily humble ourselves before the Father and know that we are his.
For he is the Lord our God * and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
Jesus, I was lost and you found me and brought me into the flock. Thank you.
Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts * as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness;
LORD, your people provoked Moses, your saint, to sin against you. Help us restrain ourselves that we do not provoke our pastors and shepherds to sin.
When your fathers tempted me * proved me, and saw my works.
Jesus, we are our father’s children and are just as capable of sin as they were. Move us by the power of your Holy Spirit into the new life you desire for us.
Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said * It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways.
Father, we too are part of such a generation: we need only look at the state of the Episcopal Church to see that we have strayed from your ways like lost sheep. Guide Bishop Bill and the other bishops assemble for their meeting in Quito.
Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
Jesus, help us count the cost of our sin and help us make those choices that will lead us into your rest. Thank you.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son * and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be * world without end. Amen.

A word received: Don’t be afraid. Keep looking to me.
