Subject: Home-Made Hats and Mitts for Prayer Table
Three women from the Colonie Senior Center are offering a huge number of really beautiful hand-made gloves and hats for distribution at the Prayer Table and for other local needs. Right now I have about 40 pounds (!) of goods and I have more to pick up. The women’s names are:
Pauline Layton
Renee Ferraro
Natalie VanDyke
They are associated with the Kuhn Center at 2 Thunder Rd. in Colonie.
The women will be making more (they really crank them out!) and only ask that they not be sold and given to local needs as much as possible. Kay thought that pictures and a display at the Center would be great to advertise and encourage others to participate. Thank you cards should be addressed to Kay Walker at the Center.
In addition to the above hand knitted hats and mittens, we also handed out hats that were donated by Candice Foust of Christ Church and Mark Pasko of St. Michael’s Colonie.
It snowed yesterday. Even though it was a rather cold, gray day, we averaged someone stopping once every three minutes. Weather is no indicator as to whether people will come and stop for prayer.
