Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. (James 5:7)
A word received 9/24/11: Look to me for strength to endure.
Holy Father, pour down that latter rain of your Holy Spirit so that we may produce a fruitful crop.
You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. (James 5:8 )
A word received 6/15/11: Just keep praying.
Jesus, establish our hearts for the day of your coming.
Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! (James 5:9)
Jesus, shut the lions mouths as you did for Daniel. Stop the “strife of tongues” and the backbiting that tears people apart. Hide us in your pavilion. (See Psalm 31:20)
My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. (James 5:10)
A word received 4/9/11: Pray for my work among you. Pray for my will to be accomplished among you.
Holy Spirit, help us resolve to immerse ourselves in the whole of the Bible this coming year so that we can learn from your prophets.
Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord–that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. (James 5:11)
A word received 9/20/09: Ask for my strength to endure. Pray for my little ones who do not understand what is happening. Pray for my strength daily.
LORD, as you restored Job after all his suffering, restore those who are in affliction now. Thank you.
God of Glory, give us strength to endure the cold while doing the prayer table this winter, knowing that your little ones, the lost and the least, are also out there in the cold. Thank you.
A word received: I AM with you.
