Praying for Yemen

The news that an American teacher was killed in Yemen has been much on my heart and mind the past 36 hours or so since I first saw the news, and I have found myself praying a number of things.

1)  I’m praying for this teacher’s family and colleagues today.  May they find that God is a rock and a refuge in these days of trial and crisis.  May He pour out His love and grace in their hearts and may they find that He is enough, and ALWAYS faithful.

2) I’m praying that Christ’s Gospel may win hearts and followers in Taiz and throughout Yemen as Christians continue to show love even to those who would persecute and kill them.

Some resources for praying for Yemen and its peoples may be found here.

May God protect our hearts from growing hard or hating those who would persecute us, but may we continue to be willing to love them as Christ loved us.
