Matthew 7:1-5 and Sunday School Lesson

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” (Matthew 7:1-2)
Jesus, please help us take your words seriously and let go of judgment. Help us to recognize the fruit in our own and others behavior without judging.

“And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” (Matthew 7:3-5)
Holy Spirit, bring us to the clarity of sight that comes from personal repentance.

Holy Father, help us see ourselves and recognize the sins/planks that cloud our vision.

Jesus, please hep us minister to those whom you send to disciple. Help us do it with your love and compassion. Thank you.

STUDY GUIDE: SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON 30, May 13, 2012
Theme Verse: Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. (Ephesians 2:19-22)
Readings: Ps. 33:1-8, 18-22; Acts 11:19-30; 1 John 4:1-21; John 15:9-17
Memory Verse: This is my command: Love each other. (John 15:17)
Next Week: Ps. 68:1-20 or 47; Acts 1:15-26 or Exodus 28:1-4,9-10,29-30; 1 John 5:9-15 or Acts 1:15-26; John 17:11b-19

A word received: I want to build you into the church I want. I AM the foundation and cornerstone. Look to me — let me build you up by my Holy Spirit and my word.

      Gospel: John 15:9-17

A word received: Pray for my people to desire to obey what I command. I want disciples who hunger to do my will and love one another enough to reach out to them.

      Epistle: 1 John 4:1-21

A word received: I want my love to be shown forth in your lives by the deeds you do and the way you disciple others to do what I ask of them.

      First Lessont: Acts 11:19-30

A word received: Take Barnabas as a model of being a disciple of mine. He taught and he encouraged and he sought out Paul. Whom will you disciple? Whom will you teach and encourage? Whom will you seek out?

      Psalm: Ps. 33:1-8, 18-22

A word received: If you trust in me, I will be your shield and your defender.

      Notes from the Front Line

***** I strongly recommend the book Micraculous Movments by Jerry Trusdale © 2012. It is in paperback and Kindle. While the theme of the book is the hundreds of thousands of Muslims who are turning to Jesus, the real focus of the book is on how to effectively disciple non-Christians and bring them into a living relationship with Jesus where they will lead others to Christ. It is one of the most exciting books Jean and I have read in several years. Torre

***** Start now reading and reflecting on the lessons for next Sunday so that you can receive all that God has for you (Ps. 33 or 33:1-8,18-22; Acts 11:19-30 or Isaiah 45:11-13,18-19; 1 John 4:7-21 or Acts 11:19-30; John 15:9-17).

***** Go to the Diocesan Convention and see what God has for you there.

Pray deeper dear souls. Pray with intent. Loiter with intent! Pray right into the molecular structure of the issue. Pray that the seed of sickness will not grow and be given no opportunity to grow. Pray also that any root of sickness may be removed, pulled out, just like a weed. Pray that any generational root will also be removed by the Lord Himself. Pray that the issue may be “stopped in it’s tracks” by Jesus. See the Lord walking though you, or the person you are praying for, taking the concern with Him. See Him pluck the issue from your body, your mind, your very Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). See your targeted prayer pierce the molecules of concern like a laser beam of Gods light right into the very core of the dis-ease.
Be healed, dear soul, in the very name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. After all “He is the same yesterday, today and forever. ” Hebrews 13:8
