Luke 23:26

Now as they led him away, they laid hold of a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross that he might bear it after Jesus. (Luke 23:26)
Jesus, please help each of us bear the cross we are given as service done to you, as Simon of Cyrene did.

Holy Spirit, give us strength to bear whatever cross is laid on us to carry.

Father, thank you for the high honor you gave Simon. Probably he did not recognize it as an honor at the time, and we usually do not either when we are given a cross to bear. Help us recognize your larger purposes in what we are given to do. Thank you.
