Luke 18:15-17

November 24, 2008

Then they also brought infants to him that he might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. (Luke 18:15)
Lord Jesus, rebuke us whenever we make infants and little children unwelcome in our parishes. Help us hear and respond when you rebuke us.

But Jesus called them to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.” (Luke 18:16)
Father, please overthrow any barriers that we have set up which prevent children from fully entering the life of your church.

“Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” (Luke 18:17)
Holy Spirit, move our hearts to receive and enter into the kingdom of God as little children. Thank you.

A “How to teach” word received for a Sunday School Lesson on Paul and Silas in jail (Acts 16:16-34): I want you to tell the class of my faithfulness. I was faithful in enabling Paul and Silas to bear the beating. I was faithful in enabling them to sing hymns and songs of praise. I was faithful in sending the earthquake to loose their chains. I was faithful in keeping all of the other prisoners there. I was faithful in bringing the jailer and his family to a saving knowledge of me. I AM faithful in all things.
