Philippians 3:1-14

Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe. (Philippians 3:1)
Jesus, you are my joy, my well-spring.

Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation! (Philippians 3:2)
Holy Spirit, help us be wary of all those who preach salvation by works. Help us do the work you have called us to do, but place our confidence in Jesus rather than in the works.

For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, (Philippians 3:3)
Father, thank you for giving me a circumcised heart.

though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so: circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. (Philippians 3:4-7)
Father, please help me let go of everything that hinders me from coming to Jesus.

Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ (Philippians 3:8 )
Jesus, please help me lay everything at your feet.

and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; (Philippians 3:9)
Holy Spirit, please bring all of us in this diocese to the righteousness which comes through faith in Christ and is a gift of the Father to those who trust in Jesus.

that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death, (Philippians 3:10)
Jesus, help me know you more.

if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. (Philippians 3:11)
Father, I know that my redeemer lives, and that he shall stand at last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see him for myself, and my eyes shall behold him, and not as a stranger. How my heart yearns within me for that day! Father, thank you for this great gift!

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. (Philippians 3:12)
Jesus, please help me daily press on to run the race you have set before me.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)
Jesus, help me press on today — letting go of the things behind and striving toward that which is ahead. Thank you.
