Psalm 36:7-12

December 8, 2009

How precious is your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings. (Psalm 36:7)
Father, thank you for your lovingkindness and your sheltering arms.

They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your pleasures. (Psalm 36:8 )
Flow, river, flow: Holy Spirit, flow through this diocese.

For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. (Psalm 36:9)
Jesus, light my path — help me walk in your ways.

Oh, continue your lovingkindness to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright in heart. (Psalm 36:10)
Jesus, we don’t know what to do but our eyes are fixed on you. (See 2 Chronicles 20:12)

Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away. (Psalm 36:11)
Father, you are our strong high tower and we flee to you from the wicked.

There the workers of iniquity have fallen; they have been cast down and are not able to rise. (Psalm 36:12)
Jesus, you are my redeemer and you shall stand at that latter day; and after my skin is destroyed I shall see you and delight in you; my eyes shall behold you, and not as a stranger. (See Job 19:25-27)

A word received: I love you.
