Hebrews 13:1-8

Let brotherly love continue. (Hebrews 13:1)
Jesus, help us show your love to one another.

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. (Hebrews 13:2)
Holy Spirit, please help us truly welcome all who come to our churches.

Remember the prisoners as if chained with them–those who are mistreated–since you yourselves are in the body also. (Hebrews 13:3)
O GOD, who spares when we deserve punishment, and in your wrath remembers mercy; we humbly beseech you, of your goodness, to comfort and succour all prisoners [especially those who are condemned to die]. Give them a right understanding of themselves, and of your promises; that, trusting wholly in your mercy, they may not place their confidence anywhere but in you. Relieve the distressed, protect the innocent, awaken the guilty; and forasmuch as you alone bring light out of darkness, and good out of evil, grant to these your servants, that by the power of your Holy Spirit they may be set free from the chains of sin and death, and may be brought to newness of life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP 1928 )

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (Hebrews 13:4)
Father, please intervene in the life of the Episcopal Church so that it ceases supporting sexual immorality and perversion. Restore marriage to its rightful place among us.

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For he himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
Jesus, please help us daily place our trust and hope in you.

So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)
Lord, we don’t know what to do, but our eyes are upon you and we trust that you will lead us day by day.

Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. (Hebrews 13:7)
Thank you, Father, for those who lead us in this diocese. Please guide Bishop Bill daily by your Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 )
Holy Spirit, please shut the mouths of those who claim that Jesus would now permit sexual immorality.
