Romans 12:11-14

February 12, 2010

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. (Romans 13:11)
Lord Jesus, you are the Christ, the chosen one of God; please awaken the Episcopal Church out of sleep.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. (Romans 13:12)
Holy Spirit, clothe us with your full armor; help us resist doing the works of darkness.

Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. (Romans 13:13)
Father, these are the values that are daily promoted on TV; help your people turn away from these values.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. (Romans 13:14)
Lord Jesus Christ, help the Episcopal Church put on your character rather than fulfilling the lusts of the flesh.

O Lord, may we surrender our burdens to You as we come into Your presence.
Ezekiel 44:17-18
We confess to You our sins of _______. We are not worthy to stand in Your holy place. In Your tender mercy, forgive us our sins and cover them with the Blood of the Lamb. May we come into Your presence with clean hands and pure hearts, in humility and truth.
Psalm 24:3-4
For seven days, we have prayed in this place, crying out for Your cleansing under the Blood Covenant of Jesus Christ and under the authority of Your word. In the name of Jesus Christ, we claim this worship space for the establishment of Your kingdom on earth.
Ezekiel 43:25-27
Submitted to God, we resist the devil and renounce any agreement that we have knowingly or unknowingly made with the kingdom of darkness. Satan, we render Your and Your rulers, authorities, powers of darkness, spirits of wickedness, all thrones and dominions powerless and ineffective in this place. We agree with the word of God and the completed work of the cross. It is finished! The prince of this world now stands condemned. Jesus has disarmed the powers and authorities, triumphing over them by the cross. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. We decree and declare that the works of the devil are completely destroyed in this chapel and on these grounds.
James 4:7, Ephesians 6:12, John 19:30, Colossians 2:14-15, 1 John 3:8
May Your priests who minister here teach Your people the difference between the holy and the common, the pure and the profane, the clean and the unclean. May they follow Your laws and keep Your Sabbaths holy. May they honor Your appointed days of feast and fast.
Ezekiel 44:23-24
May Jesus be their bread and Your word be their clean, sweet water.
Ezekiel 44:28-30, John 6:35, Ephesians 5:25-27, Psalm 19:9-10, 119:103
May those who minister here speak Your word in the full confidence that it will not return to You empty, but accomplish what You desire and achieve the purpose for which You have sent it.
Isaiah 55:11
May You inhabit the praise of Your people in this chapel.
Psalm 22:3 KJV
May the angels, excelling in strength, bless You, do Your commandments, and hearken to the spoken voice of Your word in this chapel.
Psalm 103:20 KJV
We align ourselves with the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We speak to the heavens and command them to be opened over this altar. Let Your kingdom come, let Your will be done in this chapel as it is in heaven. We receive and release the kingdom of God, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and the ministry of angels into the lives of those who come here to worship. Amen. Amen. Amen.
