Psalm 64

Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation; preserve my life from fear of the enemy. (Psalm 64:1)
Jesus, please preserve the life of Bishop Bill and all the faithful leaders and teachers in this diocese. Set them free from fear.

Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the rebellion of the workers of iniquity, (Psalm 64:2)
Father, defeat the plots of those who would change the gospel and promote wickedness.

Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows–bitter words, (Psalm 64:3)
Protect your faithful leaders and teachers, Lord, from those who revile the truth of the gospel.

That they may shoot in secret at the blameless; suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear. (Psalm 64:4)
Holy Spirit, clothe the faithful with your full armor.

They encourage themselves in an evil matter; they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, “Who will see them?” (Psalm 64:5)
Jesus, spring every trap so that no one comes to harm.

They devise iniquities: “We have perfected a shrewd scheme.” Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep. (Psalm 64:6)
Holy Father, defeat every scheme of those who champion wickedness and sin.

But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly they shall be wounded. (Psalm 64:7)
Father, pierce their hearts with your love, and bring them to conversion.

So he will make them stumble over their own tongue; all who see them shall flee away. (Psalm 64:8 )
Holy Spirit, protect your little ones: help them flee from those who teach falsehood.

All men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider his doing. (Psalm 64:9)
Jesus, grant us the wisdom that comes from fearing to offend you.

The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and trust in him. and all the upright in heart shall glory. (Psalm 64:10)
Jesus, restore your joy at what you are doing in your church to your faithful people. Thank you.
