South Carolina

March 5, 2010

We, the people of the State of South Carolina, in Convention assembled, grateful to God for our liberties, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the preservation and perpetuation of the same.

Psalm 119:45
And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.

Lord God,
We are indeed grateful to You for the liberties enjoyed in the state of South Carolina. Stir their hearts to seek Your divinely appointed order for their lives and land. Preserve and perpetuate their liberties for generations to come, to the glory of Your name. Amen.

Mark 4:21-29

Also he said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? (Mark 4:21)
Holy Spirit, let the light of the gospel and the fire of your love shine forth from every parish in this diocese.

“For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.” (Mark 4:22)
Lord Jesus, please bring all the hidden workings of the Executive Council of the Episcopal Church into your light. Bring them to repentance for the misuse of the endowments for missionary work.

“If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” (Mark 4:23)
Holy Father, please give us ears to hear you.

Then he said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.” (Mark 4:24)

A word received (10/9/06): I AM calling my church back to me. I AM calling my bride to me. Pray for listening ears. Pray for this day by day.

“For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” (Mark 4:25)
Jesus, the spiritual poverty of the leaders and teachers of the Episcopal Church is becoming more and more apparent.

“And he said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground,” (Mark 4:26)
Jesus, please scatter the good seed of the gospel in every parish of this diocese. Let it grow and flourish among us.

“and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.” (Mark 4:27)
Jesus, please let the seed of the gospel find good soil among us in which to grow: prepare and cultivate our hearts for the harvest.

“For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.” (Mark 4:28 )
Holy Spirit, let the full crop come in.

“But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” (Mark 4:29)
Father, send laborers into the harvest; send us into the harvest. Thank you.
