I’ve run across an interesting parallel between the Old Testament and the New Testament. At the dedication of the temple in Jerusalem, the priests brought the ark of the LORD’s covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple and put it beneath the wings of the cherubim. The musicians were accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets. They praised God, and the temple was filled with a cloud. (2 Chronicles 5)
At the opening of Acts, Jesus commands the disciples to remain in Jerusalem before He is taken up into a cloud. They met, constantly united in prayer, about 120 believers. A sound from heaven filled the room, and they were filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 1 & 2)
Father in heaven,
I humbly ask that the nation of Sudan be covered by 120 intercessors constantly united in prayer, from around the globe. Descend upon Your Church in Sudan in power. Amen.
