Psalm 27:1-5

April 3, 2010

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)
LORD, you have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Thank you for enabling me to set fear aside and live in hope.

When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. (Psalm 27:2)
Jesus, I look back and I see your victories over those who wanted to harm me; thank you for your protection and provision.

Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident. (Psalm 27:3)
Jesus, your have been that friend to me. Thank you.

One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. (Psalm 27:4)
Jesus, you have done what I could not do: you have turned my heart into your ways and given me a heart to seek you out and know you. Thank you.

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion; in the secret place of his tabernacle he shall hide me; he shall set me high upon a rock. (Psalm 27:5)
Father, you are my hiding place and I can run into your arms. Thank you for setting me on that rock: that rock is Jesus. Please help me by your Holy Spirit to keep my balance on him. Thanks.
