The quickening Spirit

May 16, 2010

Romans 8:11 (21st Century King James Version)
But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Father, You are the source of our life. We thank You for Your quickening, healing, life-giving Spirit. Help us to grow more and more into the image of Your Son. How precious are Your promises! Amen.
Romans 8, 2 Peter 1:3-4

John 17:20-24

May 16, 2010

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in me through their word;” (John 17:20)
Jesus, we join you in praying for all those who will believe in you because of our word.

“that they all may be one, as you, Father, are in me, and I in you; that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.” (John 17:21)
Holy Spirit, please help us find our unity in the unity that Jesus has with his father. Please let that unity sine forth at the Diocesan Convention.

“And the glory which you gave me I have given them, that they may be one just as we are one:” (John 17:22)
Holy Father, let the glory you gave Jesus shine forth in our lives, our parishes, and throughout this diocese. We pray that glory and that unity will draw many to belief in Jesus.

“I in them, and you in me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them as you have loved me. Father, I desire that they also whom you gave me may be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory which you have given me; for you loved me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17:23-24)
Holy Trinity, one God, let your love for one another shine forth in our lives.

A word received: Hear me; listen to me. I AM calling, are you listening?

A word received: Call my people to me.
Call them to a renewed life of prayer.
Pray that they will be drawn to my Scriptures.
Pray for my new life to be shown forth in them.

Albany Intercessor

Bishop Glasspool and her consecrators

May 16, 2010

Dear Father,
Your Son taught us to pray for our enemies, and He is seated at Your right hand, interceding for Bp Glasspool and her consecrators. He knows their needs far better than we. We stand in agreement with the intercession of Jesus Christ. Bless them. Amen.
