While he spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her and she will live.” (Matthew 9:18 )
Jesus, we pray that all who lead the congregations of your people will come to you as this man did to find new life for their families.
So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did his disciples. (Matthew 9:19)
Jesus, please help us go with you as you minister to people. Help us learn how to do what you do.
And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of his garment. (Matthew 9:20)
Help us in our time of need to reach out and touch the hem of your garment, Jesus.
For she said to herself, “If only I may touch his garment, I shall be made well.” (Matthew 9:21)
Holy Spirit, please help us come to Jesus with the faith that this woman had. Prepare your team and all who will minister at the Diocesan Convention to minister with faith.
But Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour. (Matthew 9:22)
Father, please help us come by faith to receive the healing you have prepared for us. Thank you.
When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, he said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed him. (Matthew 9:23-24)
Jesus, please help us make room for you in our homes. Help us ignore the ridicule of those who do not believe your words.
But when the crowd was put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. And the report of this went out into all that land. (Matthew 9:25-26)
Lord Jesus, come and take each member of my family by the hand and raise them up to new life in you. Help us give a faithful report of all that you have done among us. Thank you.
