A beautiful moment in a beautiful place

One aspect of the story of the resurrection of the son of the widow of Nain is the providential nature of the timing of events (Luke 7:11-18). Only God could have orchestrated the funeral party meeting Jesus and His companions at the city gates–a confrontation of the spirit of death with the Lord of Life.
Nain means beautiful, pleasant, or green pastures.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (New International Version)
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Lord Jesus,
You prepare a table before us in the presence of our enemies. The funeral bier was the table prepared for the widow of Nain–her son’s life in the presence of the spirit of death! How awesome is Your majesty!
Just as the four anonymous men carried the body of the son of the widow of Nain to You on the road, we carry our loved ones, Joseph, Sally, Chris, Lauren, Gaenor, Mark, Samuel, Erin, Isabella, Christy, Nick, Alan, and David, to You in prayer. We trust You to make the sorrow and suffering of their neurological disease beautiful in its time.
We cannot fathom all that You have done. We lean on You, Lord, and not on our own understanding. Amen.
