One Misty Moisty Morning
[A children’s poem. It was a VERY misty moisty morning here in Schenectady.]

One misty moisty morning,
When cloudy was the weather,
I chanced to meet an old man,
Clothed all in leather.
He began to compliment
And I began to grin.
How do you do? And how do you do?
And how do you do again?

State St.

In addition to Celtic paganism, goddess worship, and Druidry, Glastonbury features large Tibetan Buddhist prayer wheels. Tibetan prayer wheels (called Mani wheels by the Tibetans) supposedly are devices for spreading spiritual blessings and well being. Rolls of thin paper, imprinted with many, many copies of the Buddhist mantra (prayer) in an ancient Indian script or in Tibetan script, are wound around an axle in a protective container, and spun around and around. Typically, larger decorative versions of the syllables of the mantra are also carved on the outside cover of the wheel. Tibetan Buddhists believe that saying this mantra, out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion.
Viewing a written copy of the mantra is said to have the same effect — and the mantra is carved into stones left in piles near paths where travelers will see them. Spinning the written form of the mantra around in a Mani wheel is also supposed to have the same effect; the more copies of the mantra, the more the benefit.

We love you, O Lord, our strength. You are our rock and fortress and Deliverer. O God, You are our strength in whom we trust, our shield, the horn of our salvation, our stronghold. We call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and ask that Glastonbury be saved from our enemies (Psalm 18:1-3).

Lord, we claim Your promises. Your Word says:
-that You will fight for us (Deut 3:22)
-it will not be by might nor power but by Your Spirit (Zech 4:6).
-because of our weakness You will become strong in us (Heb 11:34).
-that even the gates of Hades shall not prevail against us as part of Your church, including the church in England (Matt 16:18).
-that through You we shall do valiantly, because it is You who treads down our enemies (Psalm 108: 13).

Lord God Almighty, we ask You to send angels to do battle for Glastonbury on earth and in the heavenlies against every source of wickedness (Heb 1:14, Psalm 103:20).

We ask you Father to cover and surround the Christians in Glastonbury and the intercessors for Glastonbury with the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rev 12:11). We ask that the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ will also cover their bodies, souls and spirits as well as their minds, wills, emotions and hearts (Heb 9:14). The Christians in Glastonbury and intercessors for Glastonbury are complete in Him, redeemed, cleansed and sanctified by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (3 John 1:7). Therefore the devil has no place in them and no power over them (Rom 16:20). We ask You, Heavenly Father, to place Your hedge of protection around about them and their loved ones (Job 1:10). Please hide them under the shadow of Your wings and surround them as with a shield and hold them in Your righteous right hand (Psalm 91:4, Psalm 5:12, Psalm 108:6).

As Anglican Christians, we sever the source of the curses on Glastonbury, whether they are from witchcraft, wizardry, voodoo, sorcery, New Age, satanism, psychics, channelers, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist prayers, ancestral, aboriginal and freemasonry rituals, prayers from every other religious group or false Christian prayers. Specifically, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we negate all Buddhist mantras, spoken or written, and all idolatrous rock music prayers (Deut l8:9-13). At the name of Jesus, the prince of the power of the air over Glastonbury and Chenrezig must bow their knees.

We forgive all those who have come against Glastonbury in this way and cut off their ties and connections to Glastonbury. Demonic grace over Glastonbury is bound, in the name of Jesus Christ. In our authority as disciples of Jesus Christ and as Anglicans, we declare demonic protection and assignments null and void. We bind the powers of all those coming against Glastonbury, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matt 5:44, Matt 16:17-19, Luke 21:22). We bless the enemies of Glastonbury and the enemies of her intercessors. Amen.

Inspiration for this prayer came from

Matthew 27:57-66

April 23, 2011

Now when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. (Matthew 27:57)
      Jesus, it doesn’t matter to you if we are rich or poor, female or male, Jew or Gentile, we can still be your disciples and minister to you.

This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given to him. (Matthew 27:58 )
      Holy Spirit, thank you for Joseph’s willingness to publicly minister to Jesus, even in the hour of his death, by going to Pilate for the Jesus’ body. Please give us the same boldness that Joseph had to go before kings and governors (Luke 21:12) and minister to Jesus as we do that.

When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed. (Matthew 27:59-60)
      Father, please help us minister to Jesus as Joseph did. Help us to praise and worship Jesus and minister to him in love by giving of ourselves and our possessions as Joseph did.

And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb. (Matthew 27:61)
      Jesus, thank you for all the women who ministered to you (Matthew 27:55) and who minister to you today. Bless the Sisters of St. Mary and the Daughters of the King as they minister to you in prayer and thanksgiving and in deeds of service. Please raise up many vocations to their life of committed prayer. Thank you.

On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, saying, “Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise.’ Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead.’ So the last deception will be worse than the first.” Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.” So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard. (Matthew 27:62-66)
      Holy Spirit, move in the hearts of those who live out lies and deception. Bring them to repentance and a saving knowledge of Jesus. Shut the mouths of those who gossip and spread falsehood as you shut the lions’ mouths for Daniel. “You shall hide them in the secret place of your presence from the plots of man; you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.” (Psalm 31:20)

      Father, please put on all of us the shoes of the preparation to share the gospel of peace; gird our loins with your truth; put on us the breastplate of righteousness, and the helmet of salvation. Place on our arm the shield of faith with which to quench every fiery dart of the evil one; and place in our hand the sword of your Spirit which is your Word, Jesus; that having stood all, we might yet stand. Finally, help us to be strong in Jesus and in the power of his might. Thank you. (See Ephesians 6:10-20)

      I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt; put me to doing, put me to suffering; let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee; let me be full, let me be empty; let me have all things, let me have nothing; I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.
      And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen. From the Watch Night Service by John Wesley.

      Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.

Praying the Nicene Creed, a word received 12/29/07: Each day I want you to take a phrase from the Nicene Creed and pray that phrase. My people need to hear what is true and make it their own.
I believe in one God,
      Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, thank you for being one and thank you for your love for one another. Please help me, help your people live in the reality of your unity and love. Thank you.
the Father Almighty,
      Father, thank you for being a father to me. Thank you that by your might you have made your son Jesus known to us so that we can become your children.
maker of heaven and earth,
      Thank you, Father, for your creation. Please help us by your Holy Spirit to be better stewards of your creation.
and of all things visible and invisible;
      Father, we know that we are surrounded by your angelic hosts and that whole company of heaven, that cloud of witnesses that has gone before us. Help us to be steady in you till we reach that place of rest. Thank you.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
      Father, guide us by your Holy Spirit so that every other “lord” in our lives is brought under the sovereign rule of Jesus and he becomes our one Lord. Thank you.
the only begotten Son of God,
      Father, thank you for sending your one and only son to us so that we might become your children.
begotten of his Father before all worlds,
      Jesus, you have always been there; help us receive you into every part of our lives.
God of God, Light of Light,
      Jesus, you are God and you are the light to take us through this time of darkness in the church and in the nation. You are the word of God and are a lamp to our feet.
very God of very God,
      Jesus, you and the Father are one; please help us come to know you and him better.
begotten, not made,
      Father, thank you for choosing Mary to bring Jesus to us. Help us to respond as she did.
being of one substance with the Father;
      Jesus, you came to us bearing the image of the Father so that we might know his love for us. You are one with him and there is no division between you. Please help us by your Holy Spirit to know the unity and character that you share with the Father.
by whom all things were made;
      Jesus, everything we have was made by you, there is nothing that we can have that we can call our own except for your cross and resurrection. It is all a free gift of yours; thank you.
who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven,
      Jesus, thank you for being willing to give up the glory of heaven to come and live with us. Thank you that day by day your Holy Spirit is willing to live in us in the midst of all our sin.
and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, and was made man;
      Holy Spirit, thank you for Mary’s willingness to receive your over-shadowing and her willingness to risk all to bear Jesus for us.
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
      Thank you, Jesus, for what you endured on the cross for us.
he suffered and was buried;
      Jesus, thank you for dying for us while we were still sinners. You went to the cross and the grave for us because of your love for your father and for us. Thank you.
and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures,
      Holy Spirit, thank you that you enabled Jesus to rise from the dead. Thank you for his victory over sin and death. Please bring us to new life in him.
and ascended into heaven,
       Jesus, thank you for your ascension into heaven to sit at the right hand of your father. Thank you that you ever live to make intercession for us.
