John 1:1-5

January 9, 2012

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
Holy Spirit, help us begin each day in your word and the Word, Jesus Christ.

He was in the beginning with God. (John 1:2)
Father, thank you that in Jesus we can make a new beginning each day.

All things were made through him, and without him nothing was made that was made. (John 1:3)
Holy Spirit, continue to mold and shape us.

In him was life, and the life was the light of men. (John 1:4)
Jesus, help us find our life in you today and let your light shine forth from us to others. Thank you.

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. (John 1:5)
Jesus, let your light shine forth in the Episcopal Church — drive away the darkness that besets it. Thank you.

A word received: You need my Holy Spirit. You need to be refreshed day by day by my Holy Spirit.

Someone recently wrote to me saying, “You are only a click away” in regard to today’s communication. Jesus is even closer. He is a thought, a prayer, a blink of the eye away from our perspective. Actually He is even closer. “I am with you always…” Matthew 28:20

“Dinner with a Perfect Stranger”

Do you know a relative or friend whom you would like to introduce to Jesus? If so you have to read this book and then pass it on. The book will reintroduce to you Jesus and let those whom you love get to know Him Too. I sat down to read this little book and slowly read it in two hours. I just could not put it down. I read it in one sitting, without going to sleep, now that’s a miracle! “Nick” gets a mysterious invitation in the mail to have dinner with Jesus of Nazareth at Milano’s restaurant, Tuesday March 24th at eight o’clock. “Yeah right” he says. He thinks that his friends are pulling a prank on him. This is a “Brilliant” book that gets you thinking. It got me thinking I want more of Jesus and I want to invite Him again into my house. Read this little gem and pass it on. You will be blessed, and so will those you would like to know Jesus.
Be well, God bless you, Fr. Nigel+
