Respect for Rights of Conscience Act

Congressman Jeff Fortenberry introduced H.R. 1179, the Respect for Rights of Conscience Act, in March 2011. This measure would repeal the controversial mandate, amending the 2010 health care law to preserve conscience rights for religious institutions, health care providers, and small businesses who pay for health care coverage. Currently, the bill has a bipartisan 180 cosponsors. In the Senate, Senator Roy Blunt is advancing this same legislation, with nearly 40 cosponsors.
In addition to the legislative approach, plans are being laid for the judicial challenge of the HHS mandate on contraception and abortifacients.

We humbly ask You to invade the music industry. Prepare the hearts of musicians and business leaders for Your good work. Purify them. Give birth to new destinies where they will recognize and discern the guidance of the Holy Spirit in their creativity. We cry out for a worshipping army. We cry out for new songs of religious freedom–the sounds of heaven and the voice of God. Fill the atmosphere over the United States of America with Your praise and glory. Amen.
